Present paper focuses on design and simulation of an inset fed rectangular microstrip patch antenna for GPS applications. The proposed is designed at frequency 1.9 GHz which comes in L-Band region simulated using Electromagnetic Simulator such as HFSS software with three different dielectric substrates comparing their performance characteristics gain, bandwidth, beam width, VSWR return loss. results shows that the maximum bandwidth obtained FR4 substrate minimum found Arlon AD320 substrate, where gain air (vaccum) substrate. has been range highly suitable
